There are a few topics you shouldn't bring up, or should at least approach very carefully. First: try not to call Hungarians Slavic. For some reason we take huge pride in being Finno-Ugric. Hungarian's closest relative is Finnish, though the two are still very far apart. They just share a similar rhythm.
Under no circumstances call us Slavic, or say things like "Hungary was part of Russia". It never was.
And stay away from 20th-century politics in general. You might end up in a sticky situation.
